The Irish Data Protection Commission has prepared a draft ruling based on their investigation of Instagram's handling of children's personal data. The draft has been shared with other European Union regulators for their comments.. It may be mentioned that the Ireland's Data Protection Commission, which is the EU's lead regulator for Instagram owner Facebook, opened the investigation in late 2020.
